There are two alternative formulation systems or paradigms available which should be selected according to the type of products to be managed -

Single-Mix® -
Suitable for use with single level products or simple multi-component products such as those found in animal and aqua feed, simple food blending (such as in breakfast cereals), fruit juices and other beverages, sausage and meat products, tea and coffee, mineral premix, fertilizer and other industries.
  Integra-Mix® -
Purpose designed for multi-component products, particularly where components are shared between different end products. Petfood manufacture is a typical example of an industry that benefits hugely from the use of Integra-Mix® since this software is able to model not only the resource management but the multi-step manufacturing process.

Both Single-Mix® and Integra-Mix® solutions come with a wide-range of functionality and utilities as standard; including macros, scripts and industry- standard interfaces.

Functionality is continually developed in conjunction with our users resulting in programs which provide user-friendly, flexible tools for an efficient and accurate ingredient management and formulation workflow, which fully meet the demands of today's forward-thinking businesses.

Other formulation tools available assist decision-making for diverse optimisation and allocation scenarios. All of these tools are widely used for evaluation and planning raw material purchases, enabling users to achieve real cost savings -

Multi-Mix® - This module optimises all products in a plant for a particular time period, whilst taking account of restrictions on raw material supply. Multi-Mix achieves significant cost savings over the use of Single-Mix® by allocating scarce or surplus raw materials at total least cost.

Global-Mix® - Comprising a full distribution model, this module takes the Multi-Mix concept further by providing optimisation facilities for multiple time periods and/or plants. In addition to ingredient tonnage constraints, resources may be transferred between locations, and through time, with the cost of such transfers taken into account. A variety of models may be constructed and Global-Mix® secures significant advantages in its use as a strategic planning tool.

Parametrics™ - Available in Single-Mix®, Multi-Mix® and Global-Mix®. This facility allows the rapid investigation of step-wise changes in factors affecting the optimisation result, for example raw material cost or availability.

QC-Mix® - Uses stochastic techniques to optimise a formulation whilst taking into account variability in raw material analysis.

Format offers unrivalled expertise in the design and application of software for the optimisation of recipes to least cost, using linear programming and other techniques. New Century™ formulation modules provide clear, fast, accurate tools for this key function.
