Rchive
The Recipe Archive System
Rchive provides a historical record of formulae by storing multiple versions for each product. These versions may be reference copies, emergency substitutions or they may form a record of production formulae.

NC programs are used in many industries

The adaptability of Format programs extends to many industries, where materials are blended, such as flour milling, cement and chemical production.  Here the programs allow material purchase, blending and storage to be more finely controlled.

Rchive provides a secure and stand-alone audit trail. The product name is stored with each version, as is the name of each ingredient contained within the formula. The nutrient analysis correct at the time of storage is held for each formula. Thus the historical record is always maintained, unbroken, even if product names, ingredient names or analysis are subsequently changed in the live or current files.

Rchive permits historical interrogation of formulae to compare costs, nutrient levels and ingredient inclusion levels. An integral "options" facility allows the management of base formulae which are manufactured in different guises, with small changes to the base recipe. For example, the use of alternative additives.  This overcomes the need to formulate each product variant separately.

The desired legal declaration may also be stored in the Rchive™ for each formula version, thus ensuring a full historical record of product information.

Rchive™ features

  • Stores unlimited Versions of each formula; version code up to 10 characters, automatically or manually created and may be linked to date of creation or intended use.
  • Period of validity of production formulae specified by calendar dates.
  • Stores nutrient analysis valid at point of archiving. Nutrient analyses may be recalculated using current raw material values.
  • Formulae versions may be examined for ingredient and nutrient content changes over time
  • Allows comparisons of costs, margins and selling prices.
  • Compares differences in material and nutrient content between different formulae and formula versions.
  • "Options" facility allows easy modification of base formulae to include varying additives.
  • Declared nutrient values for labeling purposes are stored with each version of each formula. These can be carried forward from version to version if unchanged, manually determined or may be automatically computed using the prevailing legal logic. Rchive links to Smart-Label, the intelligent labeling system
  • Rchive provides export utilities to transfer formulae to external process control software
