Uni-Mix®
Recipe Optimization
Uni-Mix™ is a Program in the New Century™ range of software providing  Linear Programming facilities for the least-cost optimization of  feed and food mixtures.  It also provides facilities for the control and maintenance of product and ingredient databases.

Key pricing and management reports can be drawn from Uni-Mix, and export utilities are also provided to enable links to external software such as Process Control and  Administration systems.

Constant review of user needs keeps Format software on target

Format's company policy has always been to meet the changing requirements of our customers.  As the needs of the industry develop, so must our programs keep pace

Uni-Mix® features

  • "Central" or master reference plant for ingredient and for specification data comparisons
  • Multiple plants data may be stored and maintained
  • Multi-user access to data files with record-locking for full data integrity
  • Fast and user-friendly optimization feature -
    • Edit and one-touch re-optimization for investigation of alternative scenarios
    • Stores current and previous solutions allowing comparison and "swapping" between them
    • Ingredient values, opportunity prices and full price Sensitivity are shown
  • Master and working specifications are stored and may be compared and contrasted
  • Up to 100 nutrients per product may be constrained
  • Up to 13 Time Periods, containing time-dependent data such as ingredient costs and product tonnage forecasts, may be stored
  • Up to 1,000 raw materials per product may be constrained each with a minimum and maximum. Evaluation can be carried out on an unlimited number of materials
  • Nutrient ratios and ingredient combinations can be specified and constrained
  • Swing facility controls the variation of new formulas to within permitted levels
  • Exploratory and permanent product formulae are stored, compared and contrasted
  • Full, interactive Macro facilities, with logic and error checking
  • Script and Equation language facility for in-program calculations and data manipulation
  • Comprehensive data management routines and utilities are provided
  • Storage of code lists for efficient code selection

Illustrated below is a typical optimization screen. This illustrates the entry of a new constraint in order to derive and assess an alternative scenario. The view also shows sensitivities for those constraints that are currently limiting –

Uni-Mix™ offers a compact solution for least cost formulation requirements. More complex and extensive facilities are provided by the Single-Mix® module, which is the core program for the New Century™ range.
